What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant. It is one of over 100 cannabinoids identified in cannabis. Unlike its counterpart THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD does not have psychoactive effects and does not cause a “high.”

CBD has gained popularity for its potential therapeutic benefits. It interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which plays a role in regulating various physiological processes, such as pain sensation, mood, sleep, and immune function. Many people use CBD products for potential relief from pain, inflammation, anxiety, insomnia, and other conditions.

It’s important to note that while CBD shows promise in some areas, scientific research is still ongoing, and the full extent of its benefits and potential side effects is not yet fully understood. If you are considering using CBD, it’s advisable to consult with a healthcare professional to ensure it aligns with your specific needs and circumstances.
