At Life Oils, we believe in transparency.

Due to recent regulatory changes in the UK, we have made the decision to discontinue our Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) supplement with immediate effect.

In late 2025, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) classified Turkey Tail as a “Novel Food”. This means it cannot currently be sold for human consumption in the UK without formal authorisation under Novel Food regulations.

This classification is a regulatory matter based on historical consumption data prior to May 1997. It is not related to product safety.

As a responsible UK business, we always operate fully within current legislation. Although Turkey Tail remains legal to forage and may still be prescribed by qualified herbal practitioners, retail sale for human consumption is now restricted.

We know this product has been valued by many of our customers, and this was not a decision we took lightly.

Our commitment remains the same: to provide high-quality, compliant supplements that support your wellbeing.

Irish Sea Moss has been used for generations as a natural source of nutrients, valued for its ability to support the body in simple, everyday ways. Harvested from the cold Atlantic waters, it’s a red algae packed with minerals that many modern diets lack.

A natural source of essential minerals

Irish Sea Moss contains a wide range of naturally occurring minerals, including iodine, magnesium, potassium, calcium, and iron. These minerals play a role in supporting energy levels, muscle function, and overall vitality.

Supporting gut and digestive health

Thanks to its natural fibre content, Irish Sea Moss is often used to support digestion and gut health. It can help maintain a healthy digestive environment, which in turn supports nutrient absorption and overall wellbeing.

Immune system support

Sea Moss is commonly associated with immune support, particularly during seasonal changes. Its mineral profile helps the body maintain balance and resilience, especially when feeling run down or under pressure.

Skin, hair, and overall nourishment

The nutrients found in Irish Sea Moss are also linked to skin and hair health. Many people include it in their routine as part of a broader approach to feeling nourished from the inside out.

A simple addition to your routine

Irish Sea Moss is easy to incorporate into daily life, whether taken as capsules or blended into a regular wellness routine. Like all supplements, it works best when combined with a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

At Life Oils, our Irish Sea Moss is carefully sourced and prepared with quality in mind — offering a natural way to support your wellbeing, without unnecessary additives or noise.

Please note that the information provided in this blog is for entertainment purposes only and should not be considered medical advice or a claim to improve health. In the UK, CBD has not been approved for medical use and is sold solely as a food supplement. It is important to consult a medical professional before taking CBD, especially if you are pregnant, taking medications, or have underlying health issues.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural compound derived from cannabis plants, known for its potential mental health benefits. It is being investigated for its possible use in treating conditions such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Before using CBD oil for ADHD treatment, it’s crucial to understand its effectiveness.

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by symptoms like difficulty concentrating, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Although more prevalent among children and adolescents, it can affect adults as well. Current treatment options for ADHD include medication, behavior management, and talk therapy. The use of CBD and similar products for managing symptoms is gaining popularity.

CBD interacts with the human endocannabinoid system (ECS), which regulates various bodily functions such as mood, digestion, and pain management. Contrary to popular belief, CBD is non-addictive and non-intoxicating when THC is absent.

Research on using CBD for ADHD is still limited, as it is a relatively new area of study. Previous findings on CBD primarily focused on cannabis consumption through ingestion or smoking, yielding inconclusive results.

One randomized controlled trial investigated the effects of cannabinoids on ADHD symptoms. The study involved a small sample of 30 individuals with ADHD, who received CBD-infused medication during the trial. The participants were evaluated at the end of the trial for IQ performance and symptom levels using standardized tests. The researchers found a slight improvement in cognitive function and a slight reduction in symptoms.

Another study titled “Impact of ADHD and Cannabis Use on Executive Functioning in Young Adults” demonstrated poor cognitive function in young adults, particularly those with ADHD symptoms, who used cannabis. These individuals exhibited deficiencies in verbal memory, working memory, recall, and decision-making. The researchers concluded that cannabis use before the age of 16 could pose a risk to neuropsychological development, as the prefrontal cortex is still maturing. This brain region plays a crucial role in functions such as problem-solving, planning, and impulse control.

A literature review examining the interaction between CBD and ADHD symptoms revealed a lack of sufficient human-controlled studies on the topic. However, another study explored the similarities between ADHD and ECS deficiencies, leading researchers to explore the potential use of CBD in addressing ADHD symptoms. Nonetheless, these researchers acknowledge the need for further investigation.

Managing ADHD Symptoms with CBD

Due to the limited and inconclusive research on using CBD for ADHD treatment, it is important to exercise caution and approach its use for symptom management. Rather than relying on CBD as an ADHD treatment, experts recommend considering it as a potential option for symptom management due to the lack of substantial evidence.

ADHD symptoms share similarities with anxiety and depression, which suggests that using CBD to manage these symptoms might yield better results. Research has shown the antidepressant effects of CBD-infused products, including CBD oil. With a variety of CBD forms available, you can choose the one that suits your symptoms best.

If you have concerns about potential side effects, topical formulas and creams can be a suitable option. These products have limited CBD absorption into the bloodstream since they need to penetrate the skin. However, their impact on managing ADHD symptoms may be less pronounced.

CBD oil is often considered an effective means of managing ADHD symptoms. It can be ingested orally or added to water or beverages. Experimenting with different methods of CBD administration can help you find the most suitable approach for your needs.

To ensure optimal results in alleviating symptoms, it is essential to choose high-quality CBD products. Numerous CBD products are available on the market, so be sure to purchase from companies that provide third-party lab tests. Additionally, request a copy of the Certificate of Analysis (COA) to verify the product’s quality.

CBD Dosage for ADHD

Currently, there are no established guidelines for CBD dosage in ADHD treatment. However, it is advisable to start with the lowest possible dose and gradually increase it as your tolerance develops. Most companies recommend an initial daily dose of 10-20 mg, though a lower dosage is recommended for children with ADHD.

If you are uncertain about dosage, it is wise to consult with your doctor. They can provide guidance on the safety of CBD use and offer expert advice on proper guidelines when combining CBD with other medications or treatments.

Potential Side Effects

The occurrence of side effects can vary among individuals. Whether you are new to CBD or have prior experience, understanding the potential risks is crucial.

Reported side effects associated with CBD use for ADHD symptoms include:

– Upset stomach

– Vomiting

– Appetite loss

– Weight changes

– Diarrhea

Conclusion

Several well-established treatment options, such as medications, therapy, and skills training, are backed by research for managing ADHD. It is advisable to rely on these traditional and proven methods to manage the condition. If you are considering the use of CBD oil for ADHD, consult with your doctor to ensure you can improve symptoms without encountering adverse side effects.

1. Enhanced Focus and Mental Clarity: Certain mushrooms, such as lion’s mane or cordyceps, are believed to have cognitive-enhancing properties. When combined with coffee, which contains caffeine, mushroom-infused coffee may provide a balanced boost of energy and mental focus, without the jitters or crash often associated with regular coffee consumption.

2. Immune System Support: Various mushroom species, including reishi, chaga, and maitake, are known for their potential immune-boosting properties. These mushrooms contain bioactive compounds that may support immune system function, promoting overall health and wellness.

3. Adaptogenic Effects: Certain mushrooms, like reishi and cordyceps, are considered adaptogens, which means they may help the body adapt to stress and promote resilience. When incorporated into coffee, mushroom extracts can potentially offer stress-reducing benefits.

4. Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Properties: Many mushrooms possess antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, such as polyphenols and beta-glucans. These substances can help combat oxidative stress, reduce inflammation, and support overall well-being.

5. Unique Flavor and Aroma: Mushroom-infused coffee can introduce a distinct flavor profile to your daily cup. Depending on the mushroom used, it may impart earthy, nutty, or even slightly savory notes, adding a new dimension to the taste experience.

As with any dietary or wellness product, it’s advisable to consult with a healthcare professional if you have any specific health concerns or are taking medications. They can provide personalized advice based on your unique needs.

Vitamin B complex refers to a group of water-soluble vitamins that include B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B7 (biotin), B9 (folate or folic acid), and B12 (cobalamin). These vitamins play essential roles in the body and offer numerous potential health benefits when taken as a complex:

1. Energy Production: B vitamins are involved in converting food into energy by helping the body metabolize carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. They support the proper functioning of the mitochondria, the energy powerhouses of cells.

2. Nervous System Support: B vitamins are crucial for maintaining a healthy nervous system. They aid in the production of neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine, which are involved in regulating mood, sleep, and cognitive function.

3. Heart Health: Certain B vitamins, like B6, B9, and B12, contribute to maintaining cardiovascular health. They help regulate homocysteine levels, an amino acid associated with an increased risk of heart disease when elevated.

4. Red Blood Cell Formation: Folate (B9) and vitamin B12 play essential roles in the production of red blood cells. They are necessary for the formation, maturation, and proper functioning of red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body.

5. Skin, Hair, and Nail Health: B vitamins are involved in maintaining healthy skin, hair, and nails. They play a role in cell regeneration, collagen synthesis, and overall tissue maintenance.

6. Mood Regulation: B vitamins, particularly B6, B9, and B12, are involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters that regulate mood. They support mental well-being and may help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.

7. DNA and Cell Division: B vitamins are essential for DNA synthesis and cell division, which are vital processes for growth, development, and maintenance of overall health.

It’s important to note that individual B vitamins may have specific benefits beyond those mentioned above. As with any supplement or health product, it’s advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before starting a vitamin B complex regimen to ensure it aligns with your specific needs and circumstances. They can provide personalized advice based on your individual requirements.

1. Bone Health: Vitamin D3 plays a crucial role in calcium absorption, which is essential for maintaining strong and healthy bones. Vitamin K2, on the other hand, helps direct calcium to the bones and teeth, preventing its accumulation in arteries and soft tissues.

2. Cardiovascular Health: Vitamin K2 may support cardiovascular health by helping to prevent the calcification of arteries. It works in conjunction with vitamin D3 to regulate calcium metabolism, promoting optimal calcium distribution and preventing its deposition in arterial walls.

3. Immune System Support: Both vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 are known to support immune system function. Vitamin D3 plays a vital role in modulating immune responses and enhancing immune cell function. Vitamin K2 also contributes to immune system regulation.

4. Cognitive Health: There is emerging research suggesting a potential link between vitamin D3 and cognitive function, including memory and mood regulation. Vitamin K2 may also have a protective role in brain health, although more research is needed in this area.

5. Synergistic Effects: Vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 work synergistically together, as they have complementary roles in regulating calcium metabolism. Taking them together may optimize their individual benefits and ensure balanced calcium utilization in the body.

As with any supplement or health product, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting a vitamin D3 and K2 regimen, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking medications. They can provide personalized advice based on your specific needs and circumstances.

It is responsible for the vibrant yellow color of turmeric and is often used as a spice in cooking, especially in Indian and Southeast Asian cuisines.

Curcumin has gained significant attention for its potential health benefits. It is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which have been studied for their potential effects on various health conditions. Research suggests that curcumin may have potential anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects. It may also support heart health, brain function, and joint health.

However, it’s important to note that curcumin’s therapeutic potential is still an area of active research, and more studies are needed to fully understand its effects and mechanisms of action. Additionally, curcumin has low bioavailability, meaning that it is poorly absorbed by the body. To enhance absorption, it is often taken with black pepper or paired with other compounds.

As with any supplement or health product, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new regimen, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking medications, as curcumin may interact with certain drugs.
